Step 1: Click on Start. Type regedit in start search and then click regedit to run registry editor.

Step 2: Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell

Step 3: In the right pane, right click, point to New, then click on DWORD (32-bit) Value and name it BagMRU Size.

Step 4: Now in the right pane, right click on BagMRU Size, Click Modify.

Step 5: Check the Decimal and type 20000 and click OK.

Step 6: Restart your PC and you are done.

So far, a masterpiece of work ! Many sites load faster, and this is on my XP computer (not so fast one, Celeron 420 @ 1.6 GhZ, 512 MB RAM). I like the new address bar features (somewhat like the new stuff in 3), the new stuff under the top right search bar making it so easy to switch the search engine, the compatibility view button does its job well and it's well placed, the suggested sites feature is also nice, and there still are many many things to experiment with !

I want to thank the IE Team for such a good job done so far. I'll be writing soon about the problems if I'll encounter any.

Here is what you should try if your Windows Update is not working in Vista :

You can try to register the following DLLs if Windows Update service is not starting up or having some issue updating/running Windows Updates:

1. Create a batch file and copy the following contents in it and then double click on it to register modules.
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\vbscript.dll
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\mshtml.dll
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\msjava.dll
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\jscript.dll
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\msxml.dll
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\shdocvw.dll
2. Restart the Windows Update and Automatic service
3. Stop the Cryptographic Service
4. Remove the folder \Windows\System32\Catroot2
5. Rename the \Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder.
This above folder is the restoration point for Windows Update service.
6. Now restart the Cryptographic Service.
7. Create another batch file and put the following lines in it and then double click on it to register the modules:
regsvr32 /s Softpub.dll
regsvr32 /s Mssip32.dll
regsvr32 /s Initpki.dll
regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
